Chemical Hazards and Risk Assessment (2-Days) Understanding why chemicals are hazardous is one of the most important steps in ensuring their safe management within the workplace. This course provides information that will help you understand the different hazards of chemicals, by considering the routes of exposure, basic toxicology and physical properties. Using this knowledge of chemical hazards, the course provides you with the skills to complete chemical risk assessments required by legislation. This course is a comprehensive and practical consideration of chemical hazards and the chemical risk assessment process required for both hazardous substances and dangerous goods. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to read and understand a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), have an understanding of the importance of correct labelling, and also understand the different classification systems you will come across in the workplace - hazardous substances, dangerous goods and poisons. You will then be able use this information to complete comprehensive risk assessments for hazardous substances and dangerous goods.
